Cartwright's racket is to sell a ranch and then have Mason (Tristram Coffin) and his men drive the ranchers away so he can resell it.
If they want their money back he gives it to them and then has them killed.
Jack (Addison Randall) arrives and learns that Mason and his men are the culprits but that they have a boss.
He suspects Cartwright (Davison Clark) and sets trap to expose him.

Interesting film—unknown extra
This is an interesting film from the era, with lots of action, a little intrigue, a little romance.
The small part of Bart Reynolds (in the first 20 minutes) was played by little-known or credited extra Brandon Beach, in one of his few speaking roles. He played in more than 100 films, including Citizen Kane, two years after this. He was active until the late ‘60s.

Jack Randall Takes Care of The Terror
A good, rather short, trim B western starring Jack Randall and his trusty sidekick Al St. John from Mongram. The plot is typical - real estate men sell land then scare off the buyers for resale - or pay off the disgruntled buyers and then kill them and steal the money. But, there's a nice twist or two here. The villains are bad guy regulars and consequently convincing as usual: Tristram C. Coffin, Nolan Willis plus uncredited actors Art Dillard, Slim Whitaker and others. Virginia Carroll provides the obligatory attractive female presence. According to IMDb she had a long career, appearing in 82 movies/TV shows between 1935-65. Enjoy.

About Jack Randall
I believe Randall is Robert Livingston's brother and died in a fall from a horse while filming a western.
